Gutbag – miniatura legenda. Wydany w 1987 roku jedynie w kilku egzemplarzach goblin w sukience. Wspaniała miniaturka pochodząca z czasów złotej ery Warhammera Fantasy Battle i Warhammera Fantasy Role Play. Z czasów kiedy Games Workshop i Citadel Miniatures mieli jeszcze poczucie humoru. Przywódca goblińskiego plemienia Rozdziawionej Paszczy, gość mający ambicje zostać potężnym szamanem. Oto zdjęcie z tekstem przedstawiającym jego sylwetkę.

Gutbag „Mysia Gardziel”, jest świetną, niezwykle barwną postacią, taką właśnie jakie uwielbiam. Kwintesencja starego Warhammera. Zły, okrutny i chciwy, ale jednocześnie przecież przezabawny. W ciuchach i biżuterii Etelki Herzen (w zasadzie to typ używa nawet jej perfum😁), Gutbag po dziś dzień nie przestaje bawić mnie do łez. Cały czas myślał że ów proceder wspomoże jego wątpliwe bądź co bądź, magiczne moce. Bardzo dobre tłumaczenie speców od przekładu z „Maga”- pseudonim Gutbaga „Mysia Gardziel”. Bo przecież w dosłownym tlumaczeniu brzmiało by ono raczej „Dusiciel Gronostajów”. I dlatego przekład dodatku „Śmierć na Rzece Reik” w wykonaniu Artura Marciniaka, Tomka Kreczmara i Rafała Nowocienia, jest w mojej opinii fantastycznym przekładem i wzorem roboty dla innych tłumaczy. Solidna rzecz.

Co do samej figurki, to narobiła ona swojego czasu sporo zamieszania w szeregach GW i Citadel. Artur pokazał mi kiedyś fragment wywiadu z Graemem Daviesem. Brzmiał on tak :

This early in the life of the Enemy Within campaign, it was still mandatory for the adventure to include a miniatures deal (that practice ended with Death on the Reik, since almost no GM would spend so much money on a lot of miniatures for one adventure). This requirement meant that there needed to be a miniature of Gutbag, which someone would have to make since no similar figure existed. The figure would have no appeal for Warhammer Fantasy Battle gamers, of course, and no one expected WFRPers to buy it in significant numbers, so there was not the promise of very much profit for the designer (they had some level of royalties at that time) – but the policy was firm, and someone had to make it. I think Kev Adams did it in the end, but the figure designers definitely thought it was not a worthy subject for a Citadel miniature. I imagine that only a very few were ever made, so it would be very rare and collectible these days. I have never seen one outside the GW Design Studio. Sporo to wyjaśnia szczerze mówiąc. Figurka bez użytku dla graczy WFB, która musiała zostać wyrzeźbiona, a nikt tak naprawdę nie chciał tego zrobić. Prawdopodobne zero profitu dla twórcy, więc w końcu odlali w metalu kilka sztuk na odczepnego. Czyni to dziś Gutbaga z pewnością jedną z najrzadszych miniatur Citadel na rynku. Co tu zresztą dużo gadać. Odnalezienie jej zajęło mi przeszło trzy lata…

Gutbag – miniature legend. Released in 1987 only few in number, goblin in the dress, untill today he makes me laugh a lot. Anyone who in late 80’s was reading or playing The Enemy Within Campaign is definitely familiar with this character.

Gutbag Stoat Throttler, is leader of the Twisted Maw goblin tribe. He has ambitions to become powerful shaman. Sadly, with zero magical talent, Gutbag as a employee of Etelka Herzen, started to wear her clothes, jewelry and even perfume, hoping that this practice will boost his magical power.

This fact proves that Gutbag is definitely one of rarest miniatures ever released by Citadel Miniatures.

Anyway, it’s him. I’ve been searching for this little lad over a three years. But now, when I look at him, I know that this search, all that time I spent looking for him, it was all very well worth this effort…
